Delivery

Sea freight from India to Ukraine • import from India • 40’HC container • customs clearance in the EU • transparent tracking

Client & task

M-G TRADE LLC engaged Navis Group to import a consignment of SAFETY HELMETS, SPARE PARTS, MECHANISMS FOR HELMETS from India to Kyiv. This was a repeat project: we had previously delivered motorcycles from India for the same company, so the new request aimed to reaffirm consistent service quality and risk control at every stage.

Shipment parameters

  • Cargo type: finished goods (safety helmets) and components.
  • Shipping unit: 40’ High Cube (40’HC) container.
  • Baseline route: Nhava Sheva (IN) → Gdańsk (PL) → Kyiv (UA).
  • Documentation: standard ocean-import pack (bill of lading, invoice/packing list, conformity certificates where required, customs declarations).
  • Incoterms: agreed by the parties under Incoterms® 2020 (details confidential).

Navis Group’s solution

1) Route with a vetted EU transshipment

We chose the Nhava Sheva → Gdańsk corridor for its stable schedules and reliable lines. Final delivery to Kyiv was arranged by rail/road with minimized terminal idle time.

2) Customs clearance in the EU

Clearance in the EU simplified onward transit to Ukraine and reduced border-delay risks. The client gained a predictable lead time and a clear cost model with no hidden fees.

3) Control and transparent communication

  • a single customer manager from booking to container handover;
  • daily status updates and tracking across milestones (departure, arrival, procedures completed, last-mile dispatch);
  • photo evidence of seals/container condition upon request.

4) Risk management

  • reserved slots and alternative legs if schedules shifted;
  • vetted last‑mile carriers;
  • agreed SLAs and checklists for terminals/customs brokers.

Execution: key milestones

  1. Booking & line confirmation → schedule alignment, marking/packing instructions.
  2. Empty container positioning → loading at shipper, sealing.
  3. Departure from Nhava Sheva → regular transit updates.
  4. Arrival at Gdańsk & transshipment → terminal operations control, EU customs procedures.
  5. Delivery to Kyiv → rail/road coordination, agreed unloading window.
  6. Container handover to the client and documentation closure.

Client outcomes

  • Predictable transit time with no unplanned stops.
  • Transparent costing and budget control — no surprise surcharges.
  • Zero incidents with cargo and documents within our responsibility.
  • Repeat trust from M-G TRADE LLC after the earlier motorcycle case — a marker of stable service quality.

Why this setup works

  • EU transshipment delivers flexibility and schedule stability in a turbulent period.
  • EU customs clearance reduces risks of delays at the Ukraine–EU border.
  • Single manager & daily statuses lower the management load on the client’s team.

Who benefits from this approach

  • importers of motorcycles and riding gear;
  • suppliers of spare parts and components from Asia;
  • distributors of personal protective equipment;
  • e‑commerce and wholesale companies that need predictable ocean freight from India.
