From 2013 to 2022, the volume of freight transportation in the EU increased by 22%, reaching 1.92 billion ton-kilometers (tkm) by the end of the period. Polish carriers hold a significant share of this market, performing transport work amounting to 385.1 million ton-kilometers, which accounts for 20% of the total freight transportation in the EU.

Poland has led the EU transport ranking since 2017, surpassing Germany, and continues to increase its transport volumes, while other European countries such as Germany, Spain, France, and Italy also remain important market participants.
